The Fox Valley area is booming, but there is a problem: tons of construction waste are being dumped into our landfills each year, even though much of it can be reused. You can be part of the solution by donating your overstock, returns, items ordered in error, items with slight imperfections, floor models/displays, and materials removed during remodeling* (such as kitchen cabinets) to Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore. *Gently used items must be less than 10 years old, clean, in working order, and in saleable condition. The Benefit In addition to helping the environment, by donating to ReStore, you get a tax deduction. If you desire, we’ll post your company ad on this web site, and we have artwork for you to use in your brochures or ads, letting customers know that you are an active part of reducing landfill dumping and that you support Habitat for Humanity. Finally, know that all monies raised at ReStore stay in our area, building simple, affordable houses in partnership with those who lack adequate shelter. Donate Building Materials, Furniture, Appliances Whether you have overstock, surplus, discontinued product lines, display materials, or are involved in remodeling projects where reusable materials are being replaced with new, we may want it! Habitat for Humanity is a 501(c)3 charity, so donations are tax deductible. If you are donating new items, a list of retail values would be most helpful. Items designated to a Habitat House will not be sold at ReStore without prior approval from the donor. Please let us know if you DO NOT want public recognition for your support of ReStore. We ask for your cooperation in donating only materials that are truly reusable. Please understand that if we feel that we cannot sell an item, we reserve the right to decline the donation, so that ReStore profits are used to build homes, and not pay for disposal fees. The list of what we can and cannot accept changes, depending on current inventory and sales. Please always call ahead before bringing materials to ReStore (847-742-9905). To discuss items you wish to donate, ask to speak with our Procurement Manager Deanna Davies or contact Deanna by email by clicking here. Pick-up Service We offer a pick-up service for large donations, if you are not able to bring them to ReStore. Please contact the ReStore at (847) 742-9905 for information on pick-ups. When your pick-up is scheduled, please provide a list of all items to be picked up. For insurance reasons, please have material to donate at a loading dock area, or at the exit door of your storage facility or warehouse. Please be aware that we will accept only items that are reusable, and our drivers reserve the right to decline a donation on the spot if it does not meet that criteria. Other Ways to Donate In addition to building material donations, ReStore and Habitat for Humanity Northern Fox Valley could use your help in many other ways. Donate Money At ReStore and Habitat for Humanity Northern Fox Valley, we are grateful for monetary donations in any amount. All donations are tax deductible. All monies raised stay in Kane County, improving the community and the quality of life for everyone. For information on monetary donations, contact Habitat for Humanity Northern Fox Valley Executive Director, Barbara Beckman at (847) 836-1432.
Donate Warehouse Equipment Donate Time & Expertise These days, time is money, and we can use every minute you can give. We are an organization that exists because of volunteers, and at the ReStore we can use your help with retail customer service, section managers (i.e., electrical, millwork, etc.), donation pick-ups, store organization, and the receiving area. We can use your expertise in retail, construction, plumbing, electrical, computer, or accounting. And, bring your friends!
